Jonathan serves as trusted counsel to buyers, developers, investors, family offices, lenders, and property owners across the full arc of the development lifecycle, from initial acquisition and project planning through construction and eventual disposition. His practice encompasses evaluation and strategic guidance on project management, construction risk mitigation, cost-to-complete analysis, and financial review, as well as the negotiation of key project agreements, including guaranteed maximum price (GMP) construction contracts. Jonathan routinely structures and negotiates transactions ranging from $10 million to more than $100 million and is presently overseeing more than $150 million in active luxury residential developments, having advised on more than $350 million in real estate development transactions over the past three years.

Jonathan is widely recognized for his skill in structuring complex real estate capital transactions involving institutional financing, EB-5 investment capital, Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) loans, and other alternative financing vehicles. His EB-5 practice draws on deep familiarity with the federal immigration program administered by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), which enables foreign investors to raise capital for real estate development throughout the United States. Having advised on transactions in excess of $1.4 billion, he counsels clients on aligning their financing strategies with both federal USCIS and securities regulations, as well as California’s continually evolving land-use and housing regulatory landscape. His statewide affordable housing expertise includes a deep understanding of many initiatives, including: SB 9, SB 10, and AB 209.
